We had the privilege to donate a basket of bundles to the WellStar Cobb Hospital NICU in Austell, Georgia this weekend. It was an honor to meet with the neonatologist as well as the several gracious nurses.
The hospital itself was beautiful! The NICU was located in the Women's Center and had these lovely panes of glass scattered throughout.
The nurses were especially pleased as to how the blankets were made: frill-less! The babies in the NICU can't use the thick quilts or the blankets with the fringe or pom-poms. Though they are cute, keep in mind that simplicity works best in this case. Get creative with the patterns of flannel, and stick with a simple hem.
It was definitely a lovely experience that filled us with a feeling that never gets old! The hospital staff said that they would put the blankets to good use immediately. Yay!
Special thanks to Wellstar Cobb Hospital for allowing us to make this donation. We will be returning soon with more goodies!
